biking.
Three hiking trails over mountainous terrain offer the most exquisite
panoramic view of a 40 kilometres distance.
A visit to the highest point,
the Beacon (1,5h), is a must!
The stunning view of the Swartberg Mountains, the town
Prince Albert and the wide open countryside - up
there you feel the magic of the Karoo.
· Ribbok Valley Route hilly and challenging (14 km - 7 hours)
· Honey Kloof Dam Route gradual and pretty (7 km - 3 hours)
· Witbakens Route gradual and pretty (12,5 km - 5,5 hours)
Bring your own bike and some enthusiasm and you will find two routes to the most attractive places.
· Arid Route (8 km - 2 hours)
· Verooiskraal Route (16 km - 4 hours)
Horse riding is one of the most exciting ways to explore nature. Riding trails exist for groups who wish to enjoy nature and game viewing from horseback.
There are various dams on the farmland with
the accompanying bird life. There are more than fifty different bird species to be seen.
They vary from large predators, water birds, wild fowl, and Ibis to the smallest
like LBJ’s.

The Karoo’s unique flora is full of interest, especially after good rain. There are more then 150 different sorts of plant species that survive in this harsh climate.

sky is heaven for astronomers and is among the best in South Africa. The clear air and the lack of light pollution
